Sen. Chris Buttars LIES On Camera (again..)

Senator Chris Buttars Caught Lying On Camera

Sunday evening, Utah Senator Chris Buttars was interviewed live at his home in West Jordan by KUTV. During the interview, Buttars was asked about the infamous interview he gave to “8: The Mormon Proposition” director Reed Cowan in which he claimed that gay people are the “biggest threat to America going down.” Buttars told KUTV tonight that Mr. Cowan deceived him during the interview by wearing a “BYU T-Shirt” to the interview in order to lull the Senator into security. Um… there are photos proving that’s a lie Buttars. Here they are. Now many in Utah are asking why Chris Buttars isn’t resigning for being caught lying on camera (again) when former-Senator Killpack resigned after a DUI arrest

This is not the first lie Mr. Buttars has told reporters about Reed Cowan. Last year after portions of the interview were released to news station ABC4, Buttars went on record claiming that he was told by Cowan that he would have final control over the footage of the interview. But this was quickly proven false as a copy of his signed release form was made available right here at PRIDEinutah.com.

    Again, we see a man who claims to be a man of God, lying and bearing false witness… all the while claiming moral superiority.

    Thou shalt not lie.
    Thou shalt not bear false witness.

    Pretty plain and simple, Elder Buttars.

    So why would it make it OK to say hateful things to someone wearing a BYU t-shirt? Why would that make anything Buttars said OK? Why would it be deceptive to wear a BYU t-shirt? I am just not getting it.

    In the particularly vile, twisted way their minds work, it makes perfect sense. He was speaking in code, directly to the moron audience. Put another way, “I expected those bastards to put the right spin on the things I said that that we all know we’re supposed to keep from outsiders. “

    I hate to tell you, but the photo proves nothing. It shows Buttars with, we presume, Cowan. No audio – no proof. It is just a picture of them together.

      Rick;
      It’s very much verifiable that the photo was taken during the interview, that’s been backed up by several news organizations. But really.. what does it matter? Is Senator Chris Buttars suggesting that he would have been ok if he had made those comments to someone within the church?

    What I wonder is this; if Reed had been wearing an electric rainbow speedo, would Buttar’s responses to his interview have been different? Would his answers have changed if he knew that Reed was gay? Can he even tell the truth? I doubt it. I think that I’m starting to pity that sad tired delusional old fool. I hope I have more compassion than he does.

  7. I just wanted to point out that all of you people bitching and whining for equality are just as bad as the idiots that you claim are putting you down. Referring to Mormon’s as ‘Moron’s’? Really? Keep it up, seriously, it’s totally working. You’ll get all the support you need if you keep trashing on the people that pretty much control your fate in this state. (like it or not)

    As a Mormon, and an avid supporter of Gay/Lesbian/TG lifestyles and rights, I find it terribly frustrating to see people that I’m trying to give my support to treating me and MY beliefs like garbage. Wake up and look at the big picture!

    Thank you, Eric, for providing a definitive answer to Buttars’ fashion claim.

    But as stated above, why should it matter? Buttars is an ass hat. A lying, belittling, holier-than-thou politician, thrice made a Mormon Bishop. Gives me the willies.
